The exact location of touchdown and track isn’t known yet but Environment Canada has confirmed that at least one tornado tore through the Highway 7 corridor between Marmora and Kaladar Sunday night.
Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder says some detail is known but they are hoping to learn more about the possibility of a tornado first striking just north of Marmora.
“We did see indications of rotation on the ground between Madoc and Actinolite and we’re going to be looking at, we’ll be reviewing the aerial footage
to have more details as those images come in.”
A team from Western University’s Northern Tornadoes Project is using a drone today to provide detail from the air.
Environment Canada had two teams in the area yesterday studying the storm damage.
The first reports of storm damage around Marmora came in shortly after 8 o’clock Sunday night.
