The Trenton Golden Hawks continue to be busy in the off-season, having made a blockbuster trade with the Markham Royals.
The G-Hawks have sent forwards and brothers Justin Mauro and Devin Mauro as well as goaltender Will Nguyen to Markham for the rights to Mitch LaFay and Player Development Fees.
Coach and General Manager Jerome Dupont says LaFay, a Stratford native, is a big body at 6’6″ and 200 lbs and will bring hockey knowledge, points and grittiness to their lineup.
He had 25 points with the Jamestown Rebels of the North American Hockey League last season.
LaFay is no stranger to the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
He was with the Cobourg Cougars during the 2019-20 season.
