Ontario Parks announced the details of the 2022 daily vehicle permits this week. Prince Edward County residents are encouraged to become familiar with this program, which provides day-use access to Sandbanks and North Beach Provincial Parks.
Daily vehicle permits must be booked in advance in order to guarantee admission to Sandbanks, North Beach and 31 other participating parks across the province.
Booking begins on Monday, May 16 at 7 a.m. for day use starting on Friday, May 20. Permits can be booked up to five days in advance.
Season pass holders are required to reserve their spot at the parks by booking a daily vehicle permit in advance.
2021 season passes remain valid for the 2022 season.
Visitors who arrive at Sandbanks or North Beach without a reservation will be turned away if reservations are sold out. In 2021, Sandbanks was sold out for approximately 60 days between mid-June and August. North Beach was sold out for approximately 30 days. Ontario Parks strongly recommends securing a daily vehicle permit in advance for all participating parks.
Ontario Parks has also introduced a new Commercial Day-Use Vehicle Permit for businesses to share with their customers. Local accommodators and other tourism industry businesses are encouraged to purchase this new pass to share with their guests and customers.
