Madoc might not be a big place but they turn out some pretty good hockey players.
Over the weekend Centre Hastings’ Ben Danford was a first round pick of the Oshawa Generals in the OHL priority draft.
Monday night, Madoc’s Dalton Bancroft collected his Most Valuable Player of the Ontario Junior Hockey League Award in Toronto. Bancroft captained the Trenton Golden Hawks this season. However, he said he would be willing to trade it in.
Bancroft led the OJHL with 92 points (37+55).
Wellington Dukes forward Jacob Vreugdenhil was named the Most Gentlemanly Player in the OJHL. He also received his award in Toronto.
