Those who have chosen to give their time to others are being recognized this week.
Saturday morning, Volunteer & Information Centre of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties (VIQ) celebrated its 2022 Volunteer of the Year awards and breakfast at the National Air Force Museum of Canada.
The awards coincided with National Volunteer Appreciation Week in Canada, April 24 to 30.
VIQ Executive Director Brenda Snider, says volunteers have had a massive impact on the region and even more so throughout the pandemic.
“Volunteers are what make every agency and organization program and service run. Through COVID it proved more than ever that the dedication of the volunteers in our community put us through COVID whether it was making PPE, or delivering meals, or whatever was happening at that time when we put that call out, they came out.”
Here are the winners of VIQ’s Volunteer of the Year awards 2022:

She has since worked with the CDC, Good Baby Box program, organized the youth fundraising group “Real McCoy C-31 Challenge”, volunteered with the Alzheimer’s office and Hasting Manor Auxiliary, and was member of Create Change Quinte.
