A 24-hour fundraising run is set for this weekend to support the Kort family.
Those at Bulldog Boxing Academy have been organizing a fundraiser called “The 24 Hour Run for Pieter Kort & Family” to provide funding for Pieter and his family’s expenses. They stated, “The efforts will give back just some of the love and support that he and his family have given our community and the Bulldog Boxing Academy, through our actions and through our financial support.”
On April 23 at noon, a 24-hour run will begin at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre indoor track.
There is no cost to register, and no minimum amount of time that you have to run. Organizers are looking to have runners on the track during the entire 24-hour period. There are approximately 60 runners registered so far.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to Piet, Jamie, Hannah and Ethan.
To date, just over $75,000 has been raised for the Kort family through generous corporate sponsorships and pledges and donations made to runners.
On Sunday April 24 at noon you can go to the QSWC for a few words from the organizers, the community, and a cheque presentation of the funds to the Kort family.

While travelling in Florida, Pieter and his family were in a devastating traffic accident on March 19. Tragically, two of his children were lost, and the surviving family members were critically injured.
