The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is making changes to the COVID-19 requirements at schools.
Following the announcement from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health that they are lifting pandemic restrictions, the school board is doing the same.
As of March 21, mandatory masks and eye protection for students and staff at schools, board offices and buses, along with daily screening requirements, will be lifted.
Director of Education Katherine MacIver says the school board is required to follow the directives of provincial and local health officials.
Following March break, the board will be maintaining protective measures including continued access to rapid tests and masks, ventilation improvements and daily self-screening.
