Belleville city council has approved a new Parkland and Recreation Master Plan which sets priorities and timelines for the development of new recreation and open space facilities for the next several years.
Consultants have been working on the plan, in consultation with the public and stakeholders, since the spring of 2020.
Councillor Tyler Allsopp says he’s glad the plan is ready to go.
“We’re going to see changes for some of our underserved sporting communities like pickle-ballers, basketball players and cyclists as well. I’m very excited about it and looking forward to seeing some of those developments.”
The over 300 page document was produced at a cost of around $240,000.
