Two people have been arrested and charged following a traffic stop by Belleville Police Wednesday morning.
Police spotted a vehicle on Moira Street West at approximately 9:30 a.m. with plates that were registered to a suspended driver.
Upon initiating a traffic stop, police determined the passenger, 36-year-old Eric Vining of Belleville, was wanted on an outstanding warrant for two counts of failure to comply with release conditions.
After arresting Vining, police searched the vehicle and found an undisclosed amount of narcotics.
As a result the driver, 30-year-old Belleville resident Nicole Brown, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and one count of driving while suspended.
Vining was also further charged with possession of narcotics.
Brown was released with a court date scheduled for February 14 and Vining was held for a bail hearing scheduled to happen Thursday.
