The number of active COVID-19 cases in Hastings Prince Edward continues to climb.
The Public Health Unit is reporting 252 new infections today, bringing the number of active cases to 1,040.
Thirteen people remain in hospital with five of those in the ICU.
There have been 52 recoveries since yesterday.
Of those infected, 126 are fully vaccinated, 51 are partially vaccinated and 75 are not vaccinated.
There are 78 cases in Belleville, 72 in Quinte West, 40 in Prince Edward County, 28 in Central Hastings, 16 in North Hastings, 11 in the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory and four in Tyendinaga and Deseronto.
HPE is reporting 35 active outbreaks.
Eighty-six percent of residents five years and up who are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine have received their first shot and 79% are fully vaccinated.
Over 12,500 residents have obtained their booster shot.
