The sale of the former Camp Picton has been finalized.
The former WWII airbase, a 700-acre property which includes the former Loch-Sloy Business Park and Picton Airport Lands has been sold to Ontario-based PEC Community Partners Inc.
The group consists of community builders including Tercot Communities, DECO Communities, PEC Placemaking, and Rockport Group.
A press release states they bring together expertise in mixed-use residential, affordable housing and commercial space, adaptive re-use of heritage sites, and complete community development with a specific focus on creative placemaking.
The group says its first priority is the revitalization of the 70-acre business park.
PEC Community Partners adds that community engagement and collaboration will be central to shaping the future of the site and that they plan to honour the heritage of the landmark property.
There are plans for a community consultation series in 2022.
