A few Belleville city councillors hit the streets Saturday to drum up support for the Jasper and Samson Matching Gift Campaign for the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward.
The campaign is in support of the Humane Society’s capital campaign “It Takes Heart” as the organization works towards a new facility to be opened next year.
Councillors Kelly McCaw, Tyler Alsopp and Carol Feeney were out knocking on doors to raise awareness for the campaign.
The Jasper and Samson campaign got its name from the Johnston-Martin family’s beloved dogs and the family has agreed to match capital campaign donations in the month of October up to $50,000.
The councillors were not accepting donations at the door but were encouraging people to give to a worthy cause and giving out information on the Humane Society’s new facility and capital campaign.
To learn more about the capital campaign and the new facility, or to make a donation, you can visit the HSHPE’s It Takes Heart website.
