The potentially lethal illegal drug fentanyl continues to circulate and cause serious problems in the region.
Belleville police officers responded to two near-death overdoses Monday.
The first incident occurred at 11:30 in the morning when a man was found on the floor of a North Front Street hotel room
The 36-year-old Belleville man was taken to hospital, treated, and subsequently turned over to Ottawa police where he was wanted.
And at 5:30 Monday, officers responded to a hardware store parking lot on Bridge Street East to find a man slumped over in the passenger seat . The 49-year-old Consecon man told police he’d taken fentanyl before passing out. He was also taken to hospital for treatment.
