The OPP have released further information regarding an accident on the 401 in Kingston Wednesday morning.
At approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday, police, fire fighters and paramedics were called to the westbound lanes of the 401 at Gardiners Road for a collision involving multiple transport trucks.
Police say that an eastbound transport truck crossed the median into the westbound lanes and collided with multiple other transport trucks.
Two drivers were pronounced dead at the scene and another was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have now identified the two deceased drivers as 41-year-old Oliver Czuppon of Mississauga and 61-year-old Charles Martin of St. Valerien, Quebec.
The westbound highway lanes were closed from Gardiners Road to County Road 6 while officers investigated and were reopened at approximately 2 a.m. Thursday.
