A provincial government cabinet minister fell in love during a recent visit to the Quinte region.
Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries Lisa MacLeod stopped in at the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward on August 24.
There she met Walter, a brown and white tabby, and adopted him on the spot.
Minister MacLeod travelled back to the area a couple of days later to bring Walter to his new home in Ottawa.
Reports indicate he is doing well and getting along with the family dog.
