“And, all of our social policies, all of our economic policies, all of our trade policies have to revolve around a future that’s green. And I think the Green Party, while they are not the most credited, have the best plan and and have all the research to support every single one of their actions.”
“It was such a critical time for us right now, to have been clear that the Green Party is here to support Canadians in the best way we can be. And, unfortunately, what is going on just doesn’t reflect the fact that there are Greens all over Canada still making an effort, still trying to get the message across and still working for the same thing.”
“Right now we need to focus on a net-neutral society where we’re spending everything that we get on our people so that we can invest in them and invest in the future. Because, like a business, investing in your people is the best way to go if you want to be successful and you want to be possible in the future.”
On the issue of foreign affairs and in particular Afghanistan, Charlton said a federal government should always talk to the highest officials involved and figure out the best plan of action before they go into crisis mode.
Charlton criticized the Liberals for even calling an election at this time and suggested it should have been postponed until all Canadians in Afghanistan were taken care of.
