After two days of searching, search and rescue techs from 424 squadron out of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton (JRCC Trenton) are scaling back the search for a missing man near Oakville.
The search began Thursday night when a man was reported missing on Lake Ontario.
Around an hour into the search an unmanned boat was found.
Along with JRCC Trenton, the search involved police, coast guard, a helicopter and civilians.
The search pressed on Friday night into Saturday morning with the JRCC Twitter page announcing Friday that it would continue.
Late Saturday morning however, a tweet was sent out confirming that the man still hadn’t been found and that the search was being scaled back.
The tweet said that the “search is now a police missing person case” and that their thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
