Belleville city police are staying tight lipped following an incident in Belleville on Wednesday afternoon.
Several sources to Quinte News say multiple police officers and cruisers were at an apartment building at the corner of Sidney Street and Moira Street West.
One witness says they drove by around 1:00 p.m., seeing numerous police cruisers and a forensics unit on site. The same witness indicated they were still on scene at 4:30 p.m.
Another witness indicates they saw a blanket/tarp covering something on the ground right outside the main doors of the apartment to the right of the driveway. They also indicated that a cruiser was on the lawn directly in front of the blanket/tarp.
Quinte News has contacted city police and received the following statement from Sergeant Brad Stitt. “The Belleville Police Service is conducting an investigation at that address, however no other details can be released at this time.”
We will provide updates when they become available.
