Officials in Quinte West have unveiled a new SaveStation at Centennial Park in Trenton.
The new station includes a first aid kit and an automated external defibrillator, or AED, which can be used by any bystander to help save someone’s life in the case of a cardiac arrest incident.
The SaveStation, which is camera monitored, also includes a heater, a fan, WiFi connection and an alarm that can notify people of an emergency, along with instructions on how to perform CPR and use the AED.
While those instructions are included, anyone who needs to use the SaveStation in case of an emergency, should also call 911.
The equipment was purchased by the city through a $10,000 grant from Canadian Pacific Railway.
