Two people had to be rescued from the Marmora Mine property early Sunday afternoon.
According to scanner monitor Scan-Quinte, emergency responders were called after one person had fallen to the bottom of the open mine pit while attempting to climb a wall and another was trapped on the wall.
A 424 Squadron search and rescue crew from 8 Wing Trenton was dispatched to the scene along with an Ornge air ambulance.
Both persons were rescued with one being flown to Belleville General Hospital and the other to hospital in Peterborough.
