Work continues for both the Wellington Dukes and the Trenton Golden Hawks for hockey this fall.
The County club (Dukes) announced details for the sale of seasons tickets.
The Dukes do not have an exact schedule, however you can talk with the team about their packages for 2021-22.
Wellington has also announced a community support component to their tickets.
They have a goal of selling 1,050 seasons tickets. They are contributing up to $20,000 to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Back the Build Campaign, for a new hospital in The County.
Meantime, the Trenton Golden Hawks have announced their home opener.
It will take place on October 1st against the Cobourg Cougars.
Director of Operations John McDonald says they are hopeful to have fans in the rink for the games as well.
He says as discussions continue with various levels of government and the health unit, they are planning how many fans they can have in the stands.
McDonald says the club is optimistic they will be able to have up to 50% of capacity, which is north of 500 fans.
The schedules for the Dukes and GHawks have not been approved or released by the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Their division will be made up of Wellington, Trenton, Lindsay, Cobourg, and the Haliburton Huskies, which moved from Whitby (Fury) over the off season.
There is still no known schedule for the local Junior C loop, made up of the Picton Pirates, Napanee Raiders, Campbellford Rebels, Frankford Huskies, Port Hope Panthers, and Amherstivew Jets. It is also expected in the coming weeks.
