Five people are facing charges after police executed search warrants this week in Tyendinaga Mohawk territory and Marlbank as a result of an ongoing investigation into Break and Enters and Drug Trafficking.
Wednesday, police searched residences on Old Highway 2 in Tyendinaga and on Queen Street in Marlbank, where methamphetamine and suspected cocaine were seized along with a large quantity of stolen property.
The stolen property included an ATV, air compressors, jack hammer, catalytic converters, several generators, hundreds of tools, weed eaters, boat motors, chainsaws, fishing tackle and over $4500 in cash.
Seven persons were arrested and two released unconditionally.
Matthew BOLTON, age 36, of Tyendinaga First nation, Lucas CHARBONNEAU, age 18, of Cornwall and Zachary DORRINGTON, age 30 of Deseronto have been charged jointly with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance
The three accused were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 19, 2021.
Tanner SWEET, age 26, of Tweed is charged with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over 5000,
Four Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation,
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition and
Possession of a Schedule I Substance
This accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of Justice in Belleville on June 28, 2021.
Police further charged a 17-year-old male youth of Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Fail to Comply with Probation, and
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance
The youth is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice youth court in Belleville on August 31, 2021
