Luckily all residents of an apartment house just off North Front Street in Belleville escaped injury after a minor fire Tuesday morning.
Shortly before 9 a.m., Belleville firefighters were called to an older two-storey wood frame house on Ridley Street West, near the Quinte Funeral Home.
Social media posts from the City of Belleville indicate it was a city employee in the area who saw flames coming from the house.
Tree Foreman and 19-year City employee, Glen Munro called 911 and knocked on the door, alerting the two occupants inside who did not know the house was on fire.
Fire and smoke were concentrated on the top floor and in the attic.
The fire was under control in about 15 minutes.
An investigation for a cause continues.
