Car vs. Loader
On April 14, 2021 at 7 a.m., Belleville police were dispatched to Avondale Road regarding a motor vehicle collision. Officers arrived on scene and observed that a car had collided with a frontend loader in a construction zone. No injuries were reported but the car was not driveable. As a result of the investigation the driver of the car was charged with making an unsafe turn.
Bail violations
On April 14, 2021 at 3 p.m., a Belleville police officer on patrol stopped a suspicious vehicle in the east end of the city. The driver was found to be currently on a court-imposed release order on outstanding sexual assault charges. Two of those conditions included house arrest and not to operate a motor vehicle. As a result the 40-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order and was held for a bail hearing on April 15, 2021.
