The owners of County Farm Centre made a donation in the name of a man they respect and have known all their lives.
Kyle, Tim and Linda Beatty were at their new location in Quinte West on Hamilton Road, to donate $10,000 to Hospice Quinte in memory of Keith MacDonald. The donation was on behalf of the Beatty family and County Farm Centre staff.
Mayor Jim Harrison also made a donation on behalf of Harrison Farms in MacDonald’s memory. He says he has known Keith for decades.
“We both (Beatty and Harrison families) thought Keith to be a man of his word and so sincere and dedicated to The County and to this area.”
MacDonald served over 40 years on Hallowell and Prince Edward County councils and was the Liberal MPP for Prince Edward Lennox from 1987 to 1990.
Outside of public service, MacDonald was also a farmer, businessman and tourist operator, an Ontario Hockey League referee and a member of the 1959 Belleville McFarlands that won a World Hockey Championship.
