Belleville Council will consider awarding a contract for some significant renovations to the Council Chambers on Monday.
Staff is recommending council award a $266,567 contract to Tom Belch and Sons to complete the project which includes an overhaul and redesign of the council chambers and new furniture, at a cost of $48,000.
The report also calls for an update of the digital infrastructure in Council Chambers and some other parts of City Hall, with staff recommending that AVIAS, the company that installed all of the current electronic equipment, be retained to do that portion of the work.
That company installed the original wiring and other digital equipment that’s currently in place, which means they’re already familiar with it, and would be reusing as much of it as possible.
The public portion of Belleville Council’s regular meeting begins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
