Quinte West council will continue to research a possible Indigenous land acknowledgement statement.
At Monday’s council meeting councillors received and approved a report recommending research be continued on possible options for a land acknowledgement statement to recognize Indigenous ancestors that lived in the area.
Prince Edward County council includes a traditional land acknowledgement statement near the beginning of every meeting.
A deadline wasn’t set however it was asked that research be completed as soon as possible.
