While you may, or may not, have heard of the popular video game Fortnite, a St. Theresa Secondary School Student is making a name for himself in the video game community and is teaming up with a professional gamer and an NFL star to try and win some money for charity.
Grade 11 student Dawson Steele has qualified for the second annual Streamer Bowl, as one of the top 30 Fortnite players in North America out of a pool of 500,000.
He’ll take part in the Fortnite tournament, alongside professional gamer Ops1x and Arizona Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake.
The event goes on February 4, at 2:00 p.m., with $1 million in prizes up for grabs, including $250,000 for the winning team.
Steele goes by the gamer tag 32wanted and says if he wins some of that cash, he plans to donate it to the local food bank and Belleville Minor Baseball.
