A man has been injured after an incident at a scrap yard in Quinte West around the lunch hour.
Quinte West firefighters were called after a reported explosion at Karten Metals, with Chief John Whelan tells Quinte News the vehicle exploded while in a shredder and the victim was struck by debris.
He was taken to Trenton Memorial Hospital for treatment, but the severity of his injuries hasn’t been updated.
There are reports that a propane tank may have either been in the shredder, or the vehicle and that’s what caused the explosion.
