Loyalist College isn’t slowing down as we head into 2021, even as we continue to deal with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic that has dominated the last year.
College President Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan previewed 2021 with Quinte News and says work has continued to add 20 new educational opportunities for students and to improve amenities on campus as well.
“It’s just remarkable to see this effort within the college community. We’ll have a bike path which will be fabulous and that should be up and running by the spring, we hope. We’re moving forward with plans in culinary and mechatronics, in health and wellness, so the institution itself hasn’t stood still.”
She says at least one of those new programs, in emergency and incident response, will be tied directly to to what we’ve been dealing with over the past year.
” … in response to what we know are going to be growing needs for people with these skill sets within our community. So it’s amazing to see that there are so many forward things happening at the college, that will position us well for continued support to this community as we come out of this pandemic.”
She says Loyalist staff and students are ready to continue to push forward and learn from the experiences of the past year to make the college and the community better.
