The Member of Parliament for Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding is proud of his constituents for pulling together and meeting the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic head-on.
And Derek Sloan is also proud of his Conservative Party because of the way they were able to push the Liberal government into making important improvements to their pandemic response to better people’s lives.
Sloan said his party was able to wake the Liberals up to the importance of rapid testing for the coronavirus.
“That was something that needed to have a spotlight on it. There hasn’t been as much action on it as we may have liked but again rapid testing is critical. If you can a test in five minutes there’s almost anything that you can do.”
Sloan says his party has been an effective opposition that has been listened to and respected by the government.
