Two people appeared in court on the weekend after an incident in Marmora.
Centre Hastings OPP were called to a home in the village on Sunday around 1 a.m. after threats had been made by two men.
Police say the men had been residing in a trailer on the victim’s property.
The two men fled the scene after setting the trailer on fire.
Peterborough and Quinte West OPP were called in to assist and a spike belt was used to stop the vehicle after it was located on Highway 7 near Norwood.
Cannabis, methamphetamine and a replica firearm were located during a search of the vehicle. The suspects were taken into custody without further incident.
Michael Stamatakos, 29, of North York, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
· Flight from peace officer
· Dangerous operation
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Arson-damage to property
· Uttering threats-cause death or bodily harm
· Uttering threats-damage property
· Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
· Possession of firearm of ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
· Conspiracy to commit indictable offence-two counts
· Participation in criminal organization
· Possession of schedule I substance-methamphetamine
Alex Silk, 25, of Southgate Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Arson-damage to property
· Possession of firearm of ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
· Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
· Participation in criminal organization
· Possession of schedule I substance-methamphetamine
· Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
Both appeared in court for a bail hearing on November 15.
