There is a new chair of the Loyalist College Board of Governors.
Pam Jolliffe has been appointed for a one year term and succeeds Bob Forder, who served as chair since 2017.
Jolliffe joined the Board in 2018 and has served as a member of the Finance, Corporate Services and Governance Committee as well as the Audit Committee during the 2018–2019 term. In August 2019, Ms. Jolliffe was elected as Vice Chair of the Board for 2019–2020 and also served as a member of the Academic, Student Affairs, Finance and Corporate Services, and Audit Committees for 2019–2020. Most recently, as Vice Chair of the Board, she also served on the Executive Committee, Nominating Committee, and the Board By-Laws and Policies Committee.
She says she looks forward to supporting the College with the same caring approach with which it supports our communities by providing the skills required to prepare for a changed workforce and to thrive in a post-pandemic economy.
Loyalist College President and CEO Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan says Pam will bring thoughtful leadership to the College as they help the Bay of Quinte region recover from the pandemic by responding to employers’ shifting labour force needs with innovative education offerings and applied research opportunities. Her commitment to non-profit sectors such as youth services, housing and mental health aligns perfectly with Loyalist’s caring, community-oriented and student-centric focus.
Jolliffe is the Principal of P. Jolliffe & Associates. During her 30-year career, she served as Interim Executive Director with Food Banks Canada; President and CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada/Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada Foundation; Executive Director of Fred Victor Centre; and as the Director of Planning and Adult Services at West Neighbourhood House (formerly St. Christopher House). Ms. Jolliffe received a Bachelor of Arts Honours from York University and a Master of Education (Counselling Psychology) from the University of Toronto. She has served on several non-profit boards, including St. Michael’s Hospital, the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
