On Saturday, September 19, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m.,, officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Dundas Street West in the City of Quinte West.
Police investigation led to the driver being charged with having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
Further investigation led to the discovery of a large quantity of suspected cannabis in the vehicle.
Police seized approximately 15 pounds of suspected cannabis.
Shawn Phillip Eckhardt, 42 years old, of Niagara Falls was additionally charged with:
- Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling
The accused was released with court dates on November 30, 2020, and December 17, 2020, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
