The Humbolt Broncos have always been a well known and respected junior hockey team, but their club is known coast to coast to coast for tragedy.
In 2018, 16 players/staff were killed, while 13 were injured, after their bus was his by a tractor trailer. The team was on the way to a playoff game.
Tyler Smith was injured in the crash, and says he does not remember anything from the crash, or a few days following.
He has had multiple surgeries and says he has suffered from both mental and physical issues since. His hope is to now do something with the platform and notoriety he has been given.

This week he is in the Quinte region for the Ducky Brand Apparel Golf Tournament, which raises money for mental health awareness, research, and support.
Smith, along with Ducky co-founder Aidan Girduckis visited Quinte News to talk about a story of hockey, horror, and most importantly, hope.
