On August 16, 2020 shortly after 10:30 p.m. officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle near Marysville on the Highway 401 eastbound lanes.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators, along with the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (FIS) are assisting in the investigation.
The identity of the victim has not been confirmed.
The investigation is continuing with assistance from the Office of the Regional Coroner.
The OPP wants to hear from anyone who may have been passing through the area at the time who may have witnessed anything or even have dash cam video.

7:05 a.m. UPDATE: 401 EAST OPEN TO TRAFFIC
Highway 401 east remains closed between Belleville and Shannonville at this time as an investigation continues into a serious collision.
A person was hit trying to cross the 401 on foot around 11:30 last night (Sunday).
According to emergency services scanner monitor Scan-Quinte, the pedestrian crossing also caused a collision between two vehicles.
Scan-Quinte reports the pedestrian was killed in the collision.
Police have not released any detail.
