The 401 has re-opened following a crash this morning.
Quinte West OPP had been advised of a vehicle traveling eastbound on the 401 near the Big Apple in Colborne. The vehicle was being driven in an erratic manner at a high rate of speed.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m., Quinte West Fire, OPP, and EMS were called to the area between Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and Glen Miller Road, near the St Hilaire overpass, for a three-vehicle crash.
The lone male driver had exited the vehicle on his own and was acting aggressively towards police and bystanders.
Police used a taser to gain control over the man and he was arrested at the scene and treated for minor injuries.
The incident is still under investigation at this time with further information to follow.
The eastbound lanes of the 401 were closed for a short period of time and all lanes have since been re-opened.
