A food production facility located in the Belleville’s North East Industrial Park has been purchased.
JBS Canada, based out of Alberta, recently acquired the business stating the purchase will continue high quality food production and provide food, job and economic security to the region.
Vantage employs over 300 people in the Belleville facility and produces a seafood line and case-ready red meat for stores like Food Basics, Metro and Super C in Quebec.
Belleville General Manager Alan Cook says the region has great partners to work with to support their vision for growth and JBS Food sees that and wanted in.
Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk says the investment in the facility demonstrates the confidence JBS has in the facility, the workforce and the community.
Vantage has been in Belleville for the past 10 years.
