Comments made about Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer by Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Derek Sloan continue to cause issues within the Conservative party caucus.
According to an article in HuffPost Canada Sloan almost faced a vote to expel him from caucus Friday afternoon.
The article states that the required number of signatures (25) had been gathered to demand a vote but after an address by Sloan to caucus, some of the MPs withdrew their names and a vote wasn’t taken.
Sloan caused a furor recently over statements saying Dr. Theresa Tam should be fired and that it seemed she was more loyal to China than to Canada in her decisions regarding the COVID-19 crisis.
