Hastings Lennox and Addington MP Derek Sloan stands by his comments regarding Dr. Theresa Tam, but it turns out his caucus members might not.
According to the Toronto Star, Ontario Conservative MPs are demanding an apology from Sloan and an emergency meeting was held Tuesday night to discuss his comments.
In a video posted to social media last week, Sloan suggested Tam was spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic and asked if Tam was “working for Canada or working for China.”
Last week, Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer refused to condemn Sloan’s comments.
If Sloan refuses to apologize, two sources to The Star said MPs would call for a vote to kick him out of Conservative caucus.
