Quinte West Councillors paid tribute to late former Mayor John Williams on Monday, sharing their condolences and memories, after Williams passed away last week.
A few moments of silent reflection were held before the meeting, as a slideshow of photos from Williams’ time as mayor was shown on the big screens inside council chambers.
Current Mayor Jim Harrison says Williams was a champion for both the City of Quinte West and the greater Quinte Region.

Williams’ funeral will be held Wednesday at the National Air Force Museum of Canada, with the city offering shuttle buses from Bain Park, for anyone who wants to attend.
