It was a very successful day across the board at Gleaners Food Bank.
On Sunday, the non-profit organization held their annual food drive in the City of Belleville and Sarah Kring, the communications and social media coordinator for Gleaners, says it looks like they’ve reached this year’s goal.
She says the volunteer response this year was over and above last year, and they saw over 300 volunteers participate in the one day food drive.
Kring says the additional help meant they were able to canvas the entire city.
She says the food donations collected will help provide them with about six months’ worth of food.
