The Belleville Fire Department has taken delivery of its almost new aerial ladder truck.
The $1.2 million state of the art vehicle was on display at Market Square for a short while Monday.
Fire Chief Mark MacDonald said the city got a good price for the truck as it had been used as a model at various trade shows
before being purchased.
The truck carries a 78 foot long ladder which is useful fighting fires as high as eight storeys.
However, the new vehicle is shorter and therefore can access more locations than the previous aerial ladder truck.
That truck, 20 years old and of no commercial value, will be donated to the Hastings and Prince Edward Fire Training Centre in Trenton.
