Belleville Police have released more information about a car chase that led to a crash this afternoon.
Officers were called by a woman, around 1:00 p.m., who told them she was a passenger in a car and the man driving was screaming at her and threatening to kill her.
Police say when they tried to stop the car, the man sped away and continued to drive erratically, eventually leading them along Highway 2 into Trenton.
Quinte West OPP joined the chase and officers ended up pinning the suspect vehicle against a fence near RCAF Road, where the 28-year-old Trenton man was taken into custody.
His name is being withheld to protect the victim, but police say he has been charged with abduction, uttering threats, flight from police and dangerous driving, with a bail hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
