The weather cooperated and it was a great day to do some fishing at the annual Cops and Kids Fishing derby at Victoria Park.
This year’s event saw kids all up and down the shoreline to see how many fish they could reel in.
Belleville Police Constable and organizer Pat Comeau says as always, it’s about the kids and having fun.
The event ran until noon with kids getting lunch and prizes.
Cst. Comeau said a number of kids managed to catch their first fish which brought out some big smiles.
He also made sure to thank all the volunteers who help make the event run smoothly and keep the kids consistently supplied with worms.
