It’s the August long weekend and the weather is forecasted to be hot and sunny.
The Sandbanks does anticipate being extremely busy with long traffic lines from visitors outside of Prince Edward County coming to spend the day at the beach.
They are letting people know in advance typically, the park is closed once they have reached parking capacity.
To avoid this, they encourage area residents and visitors staying in the County to plan accordingly if you intend to go to the beach.
If you have a summer vehicle pass, use County road 12 to avoid the lines in the park lanes.
To avoid long traffic lines on the county roads leading to the park, consider visiting the park on another day or visiting early in the morning or waiting until after 4 p.m. once the day use visitors start to leave.
