UPDATE @ 4:45 p.m.: OPP say Highway 401 has reopened after a two-car crash this afternoon.
It happened just before 5:00 p.m. and led to a closure of the eastbound lanes between Highway 37 and Shannonville Road.
Via a Twitter post, OPP say two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries and charges are pending against the driver at fault.
No other information has been released.

OPP say there has been a two car crash on the eastbound 401 west of the Shannonville Road exit.
Official details are scarce, with police only confirming that two vehicles are involved and there is debris scattered across the highway, but social media reports indicate an SUV and a pick-up truck are involved and one person may have been ejected from one of the vehicles.
Emergency crews have closed the 401 between Highway 37 in Belleville and Shannonville Road, so expect delays on alternate routes.
At this point there is no confirmed time on when the stretch of highway will reopen.
