The leader of the Ontario Green Party says governments need to look at better ways to establish, promote and fund green energy projects.
Mike Schreiner is touring the Quinte Region and neighbouring communities and stopped by CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker Show to tout the economic opportunities that exist in a climate caring economy.
He says provincial and federal leaders should be looking abroad at best practices and give more ownership to citizens when it comes to green energy projects.
He also touched on his role as the first and only Green Party MPP to be elected to the provincial legislature.
Schreiner says while he doesn’t have any real power as a single MPP, he provided at least one example of how he’s able to work across party lines to try and influence the decisions being made.
Schreiner also spoke about the current political climate, healthcare and more.
He then visited The Brake Room in downtown Belleville to speak with residents about solutions to Ontario’s ongoing climate emergency.
