There is a new head of command at 8 Wing Trenton’s Deputy Wing Commander Branch.
At a ceremony today (Monday), Lieutenant-Colonel (LCol) Jennifer Kennedy was named the new Deputy Wing Commander.
She takes over from LCol André Delhommeau, who is moving on to the Canadian Forces Language School, in order to elevate his second language capability.
LCol Kennedy has called Trenton home since 2016 and has served as the Deputy 8 Wing Administration Officer and as the Deputy Commanding Officer at 434 (Operational Test and Evaluation) Squadron.
LCol Kennedy says she is truly honoured to be chosen as the Deputy Wing Commander of 8 Wing and she looks forward to working with the incredible team of military and civilian personnel to ensure they are able to provide the best possible services to the men and women of 8 Wing.
The mission of the 8 Wing Deputy Wing Commander Branch is to enable mission ready, combat capable and resilient forces through the delivery of exceptional and comprehensive personnel services to the 8 Wing Trenton community.
Outgoing Deputy Wing Commander LCol André Delhommeau thanked those at 8 Wing Trenton during his time in command and said their dedication to their work supporting the women and men of 8 Wing is not always visible but always appreciated.
LCol Kennedy is originally from Maugerville, New Brunswick. She joined the Canadian Forces in 1991, serving as an Administration Clerk at Canadian Forces Bases in Toronto, Halifax, Suffield and Canadian Forces Station Leitrim in Ottawa. Upon reaching the rank of Warrant Officer she commissioned through the commissioning from the ranks program as a Logistics Officer in 2007 and specialized in Human Resources. Her staff duties include two postings with the Director Air Personnel Management in Ottawa, as Deputy Personnel Administration Officer in Trenton, and as the Administration Officer with the Deployed Operations Support Unit and J1 staff at the Canadian Joint Operations Command.
Her operational deployments include the Canadian Contingent Headquarters in Zagreb in 1994, as a member of the Strategic Advisory Team in Kabul in 2006 and as the J1 for Operation IMPACT in Kuwait in 2016.
