A recommendation on a name for a new elementary school to be built in east end Belleville will be discussed and voted on tomorrow (Monday).
Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth elementary schools will be consolidated and Queen Victoria will be closed while Queen Elizabeth School will be demolished.
A new school costing over 10 million dollars will be built on the site of Queen Elizabeth school on MacDonald Avenue.
After considerable public input, a special committee organized by the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is recommending the new school be named Easthill Elementary School.
Other names shortlisted were Bay of Quinte School, Belleville East, and Rosewood School.
The board’s Operations and Finance Committee will vote on the recommendation tomorrow.
